about us
Our Mission and Values
We are a Little Rock based creamery making small batch ice cream and other sweet treats. We are inspired by the Arkansas seasons, and the local food scene. Loblolly Creamery builds every recipe from the ground up, using fresh, seasonal ingredients, without the use of any premixes, preservatives, and artificial stabilizers. We use 15% butterfat to create a thick creamy base for all of your favorite flavors. Our ice cream reflects our community-oriented perspective and local tastes, featuring flavors such as Barnhill Orchards Strawberry Buttermilk, Rock Town Distillery Bourbon Pecan, and Mosaic Templar’s Maple Leaf Ragtime. At the Scoop Shop, you will find everything made from scratch, such as house-made gluten-free/vegan cones, ice cream cakes, buttercream macarons, milkshakes, and the marshiest marshmallows. Here's to local ice cream!
OUR TEAM
The team of scoopers, ice cream churners, pastry chefs, delivery drivers, and directors at Loblolly are as diverse and fun as our flavors! We are a family of friends and colleagues who are united by a common vision: to make Loblolly the best ice cream in town (check) and bring Little Rock joy, one scoop at a time! To us, bringing our city joy is as much about making great ice cream with ingredients from our community as supporting and respecting each other, and most importantly, treating our customers like members of this family we're having fun creating!
OUR COMMUNITY
The Loblolly Creamery Scoop Shop is one of Little Rock's favorite community gathering places. We know that ice cream shops are where memories are made, traditions are created, and ice cream-induced smiles abound. We also like to give back to our neighborhood by partnering with non-profits and making donations. Visit our Non-profits page for more information.
farmers and friends
We love partnering with local Arkansas farms, breweries, and artisan craft food providers. Here are some of our favorite local sources!
sweet goodness powered by the sun.
We started leasing solar power in 2024 from Little Rock Community Solar Partners.
We rent 208 solar panels and they make an average of 650 kilowatt hours of electricity a day depending on the season. During the Summer, the solar panels generate enough electricity to power our production kitchen and our SoMa Scoop Shop.
fun fact:
The Loblolly Ice Cream Truck rolls with 3 solar panels that power the freezer and lights for events and catering!
Little Rock Community Solar Partners (LRCSP) is a collaborative project where six local businesses and residences share a solar farm located 10 miles south of downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. This allows them to access renewable energy and potentially reduce utility costs. The project is a result of a community-driven initiative to promote sustainability.
Key aspects of LRCSP:
Shared Solar Farm: A single solar farm provides electricity to multiple participants.
Participating Partners: The partners include Community Bakery, Loblolly Creamery, The Root Café, Christ Episcopal Church, and two residences.
Renewable Energy Access: LRCSP provides these businesses and residences with access to clean, solar-generated electricity, potentially reducing their reliance on traditional energy sources.
Sustainability Focus: The project aligns with sustainability goals by reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy use.
Economic Benefits: Participating partners can potentially save on utility costs.
Community Innovation: LRCSP showcases how a community can collaborate to create innovative solutions for sustainable energy.
